SONYA is a collective organization of Brooklyn artists living and working in an area bounded by Flushing Ave., Atlantic Avenue, Flatbush Ave. and Bedford Ave. encompassing neighborhoods of Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Wallabout and Vinegar Hill and parts of Bedford Stuyvesant.
Each artist has a web page at our site and may participate in annual SONYA Open Studio Stroll every spring. "C" train or B25 Bus to Franklin Ave.

BROOKLYN POTTERS gathers members into a community to enhance shared aesthetic and technical interests in the clay arts. Interaction and exchange is facilitated between clay artists as well as with the general public of Metropolitan New York through exhibitions, lectures, discussions, workshops, publications, conferences, studio visits and art making activities as well as regularly scheduled membership meetings.

Brooklyn Potters maintains a fund raising display for "EMPTY BOWLS," (image left) the international effort by clay artists to raise money to feed the homeless.
It can be seen at Ozzie's Coffee House, 249 Fifth Ave., Bklyn (7180768-6868 where donated bowls are sold to raise funds for CHIPS, a Park Slope provider.(see Calendar for Anniversary Event December 5, 2007).
